HELLO
We are Aroldo and Emmanuelle, missionaries in Portugal, serving the Lord in this small town , Vila Nova de Santo André.
Our ministries here are challenging, but we are grateful to the Lord for the many blessings we receive from Him. This work is the Lord’s work and we trust in Him for guidance and direction.
Our Backgrounds
I am Brazilian, born in the state of Minais Gerais, Brazil. I lived there until I was 19 then I went to Northern Ireland (UK) to pursue some language studies. I also worked there. It is there that I met my wife – to- be, Emmanuelle, who comes from France.
Meanwhile, there was an opportunity to go and study in a Theological College in the Republic of Ireland, county Tipperary. The Lord put into my heart to go there and study for 3 years. In my last year, my wife-to-be joined me and she studied in this College for a year.
In between, we were searching for a Mission to join to be able to serve the Lord . The mission Acre International was in our heart so we applied for it and we were accepted in 1991. Our Ministry would be located in Portugal. After getting married, we came to Portugal and we have been there ever since, praise the Lord.
We first lived in Sines, working mainly with children and teenagers for 3 years. Then we moved to Alcacer do Sal where we thought we could plant a church. Yet this never happened but the Lord put in my heart to serve Him at the different local market places, selling Christian literature. I had this ministry for 15 years. This was a great opportunity to evangelize and to proclaim God’s word all around the Alentejo. The Lord knows the fruits of this ministry. During all that time, we were also working alongside the Evangelical Church of Vila Nova de Santo André, helping in the different church ministries there. We had moved to that town in 1996.
In 2004, I was called to be the Pastor of the Evangelical Church of Vila Nova de Santo André and I have been the Pastor of this Church ever since.
We have committed our life to the Lord and we continue to serve Him with all our heart, relying on His love, strength and wisdom to carry on His work for His glory and honour. We are so grateful to our God for His mercy and grace that have sustained us throughout all these years. We thank Him for making us grow spiritually day by day and for teaching us valuable lessons.
